For publishers & creators
A character builder for your RPG, built and maintained on CWN.
I’m the developer behind Characters Without Number. If you publish a tabletop RPG, I’d love to discuss bringing your game onto CWN as its own system option, with a builder shaped around your rules and the way your players use them.
Your game on CWN
A place for players to choose your game, create characters and keep using them. We’ll agree what your integration needs.
Your own system option
We can add a game-specific builder alongside CWN’s other systems: your character choices, calculations and a sheet players can use at the table.
Hosting & rules updates
An ongoing publisher arrangement can cover hosting, maintenance, bug fixes and agreed minor rules updates after launch.
Campaign companions
We can also discuss session prep, journals or encounter tools where they fit your game, with their scope agreed separately.
Try the work
Characters Without Number
CWN is my working example: a browser app for Stars, Worlds, Cities and Ashes Without Number. Explore a builder to see how game-specific choices become a playable character.
- Guided character creation with backgrounds, skills and the class or edge choices for each system.
- A live summary with calculated attributes, hit points, armour class and saving throws.
- Character saves in your browser and PDF sheet export, without needing an account.
Characters Without Number is an independent project, not an official Sine Nomine Publishing product. The Without Number games are by Kevin Crawford / Sine Nomine Publishing.
From conversation to a working tool
-
Talk about your game
We discuss your rules, player needs and how your game could fit CWN. A core-rulebook builder is a useful starting point.
-
Scope the onboarding
We agree the content, publisher review milestones, commercial terms and permission to use your rules and assets before development begins.
-
Launch & maintain
We agree a launch milestone and ongoing operation. Expansions and major additions are scoped separately from maintenance and minor updates.
Tell me about your game
Send a link to your game, who it’s for, and what you’d like a digital tool to help with. A rough idea is enough to start.
